FDIC Notice

Effective date: 1 January 2025

FDIC-Insured Institution

Stellar Crest Bank is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Deposits held in qualifying accounts are insured up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category, in the event of the bank's failure.

What is the FDIC?

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is an independent agency of the United States government that protects the funds depositors place in banks and savings associations. FDIC insurance is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government. Since the FDIC's creation in 1933, no depositor has ever lost a penny of FDIC-insured funds.

What is covered?

The following deposit products held at Stellar Crest Bank are covered by FDIC insurance:

Checking accounts
Savings accounts
Money market deposit accounts
Certificates of deposit (CDs)
Negotiable order of withdrawal (NOW) accounts
Cashier's checks and money orders

What is NOT covered?

FDIC insurance does not cover investment products such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, life insurance policies, annuities, or crypto assets — even if they were purchased through Stellar Crest Bank. Investment products involve risk, including possible loss of principal.

Ownership categories

The $250,000 limit applies per depositor, per insured bank, per ownership category. Common categories include: Single accounts, Joint accounts, Revocable trust accounts, and certain retirement accounts (IRAs). It is possible to have more than $250,000 in FDIC coverage at a single bank if funds are held in different ownership categories.
